I am a member of the LTE Communication Systems team at Research In Motion (RIM) in Ottawa, Ontario. RIM's most famous product is called Blackberry. My work is mostly focused on MAC and PHY design, analysis, and modeling for LTE systems. LTE is based on 3GPP technical specifications '36' series.

From 2006 to 2009, I was a Systems Designer with Nortel Networks in Ottawa and was involved in MAC and PHY design for WiMAX and LTE systems. WiMAX is based on IEEE 802.16 standard series.

Before joining Nortel, I held a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) position which was awarded to me by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of the Government of Canada. I was also awarded an NSERC Industrial Research and Development Fellowship (IRDF) award.

I received my B.Sc. (in electrical engineering, electronics) and M.Sc. (in electrical engineering, communications) both from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran. I did my Ph.D. studies in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Queen's University under the supervision of Professor Fady Alajaji and Professor Tamas Linder.
