Office hours: By appointment. Please email me at least 24hours in advance.

(There is no tutorial for this course).

Course hours: Tuesdays, from 6:30p.m to 9:30p.m (3 hours)

Class room: Jeffery Hall RM126

Textbook: Excursions in Modern Mathematics (5th or 6th edition) by Peter Tannenbaum

Important information: You can now borrow the course textbook at the Douglas library (3 hours loan). There are two copies; one is the 6th edition and the other is the 5th edition. I recommend you to borrow the 6th edition if you can.

NOTE1: All marked in-class works and assignments are now ready. You can pick your in-class works and assignments from the pigeon hole of MATH013, which is located in the second floor of Jeffery Hall, just in front of MATH help centre (JEFFERY 201).

NOTE2: If you are busy and you do not want to work on the project (due is April 4th), I will count your midterm #2 as 35% of your final grade, instead of the original evaluation scheme (30% for the midterm #2 and 5% for the project). If you want to accept this offer, you have to make a paper form (emails will not be accepted) stating as "I will not work on the project so please count my midterm #2 as 35% of my final grade." together with your signature. This paper form should be handed in directly to me before the midterm #2 starts. NO EXCEPTION! If you do not hand in the paper form and you do not hand in your project, either, then the score of your project is 0 and I will still count midterm#2 as 30% of your final grade. For those who prefer to work on the project, first I will calculate your final grade by using the original evaluation scheme (30% for the midterm#2 and 5% for the project). Next I will calculate your final grade by considering your midterm#2 as 35% of your grade. Among those two, I will use the better one for your final grade. So there will no disadvantages for handing in your project.
