MATH CLUB: The math club meets on Thursdays, 5:30-6:30, in Jeffery 101. Each week, there will be a talk on some interesting topic in mathematics. The first meeting is on Thursday, January 22 (schedule of talks).

  • Feb. 10: This is to confirm that the midterm test for the course will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, in class. Students requiring extra time will also write the exam on the same day, beginning at 1:30pm. NO EXCEPTIONS will be granted.

    The material for the test consists of all topics covered in class up to (and including) Friday, Feb. 13. This is the material in Appendix A and Chapters 1-4 (except Section 4.5) of the course reader.

    The midterm tests from 2006 and 2008 are available for your reference. Solutions to some of the problems on these tests will be discussed in the tutorials on Wednesday, Feb. 25, and Thursday, Feb. 26.
